Uruguay vs. Germany: In third-place match, Germany squeaks out win

Diego Forlan's free kick on the final play of the game caromed off the crossbar, and Germany was able to secure third place in the World Cup with a 3-2 win over Uruguay. Sami Khedira's goal in the 82nd minute proved to be the game-winner....

Ghana vs. Uruguay: World Cup stunner as Uruguay wins on penalty kicks

Uruguay defeated Ghana, 4-2 in penalty kicks, after the teams played to a 1-1 tie. Ghana had a chance to win the game at the very end of extra time, but Asamoah Gyan's penalty kick, awarded after a very intentional hand ball by Uruguay's Luis Suarez, caromed off the crossbar....
