Flu Bags Rockville Scottish Festival

The 41st Annual National Capital Area Scottish Festival, scheduled for Saturday at Rockville High School, has been cancelled because of the flu outbreak.

The school is closed because a student is believed to have been infected.

Organizers were disappointed. They had already bought food, and sent out 900 notices, said Lisa Frazier, director of the Rockville High School Pipe Band.

Four pipe bands and three dancing groups, among others, were to perform in the school gym. The festival usually draws about 500 people

"We have a lot of older people who come to the concert," Frazier said. "It would just be a horrible thing if anybody got sick."
