Anyone Worried?

It is an 87-degree afternoon here at Byrd Stadium. Maryland back Da’Rel Scott had a nice 40-yard run, but the Terps missed two field goals and there is not much to cheer at this point. I even heard a smattering of boos from the crowd.

Here is some first-quarter play by play:

On the first drive, Maryland quarterback Jordan Steffy completed a quick out to Darrius Heyward-Bey, who squirted down the field for a 24-yard game. But on third and five from the 31, Steffy floated a pass to Ronnie Tyler that was nearly intercepted. Maryland kicker Obi Egekeze then missed a 48-yard field goal, as the ball grazed the crossbar.

For Delaware, on third and eight from the 33, quarterback Rob Schoenhoft threw high, but Maryland free safety Terrell Skinner was assessed a pass interference penalty. Delaware had new life but eventually went three and out, punted and pinned Maryland deep in its own territory, at the 2.

Behind the running of Da’Rel Scott, Maryland took the ball down the field on a lengthy played keyed by a 40-yard run by Scott. But the drive stalled at the Delaware 27, and Egekeze missed a 44-yard field goal wide left.

Delaware was on an 8-play drive as the first quarter ended.

There was one late change: Chase Bullock did start for Dave Philistin

this is the same old offense with steffy as QB--he has no ability to throw down the field, panics in the pocket, and holds ball too long. Turner is the only hope for this offense having any vertical passing game. I said before and will say again if you are a fan of the 3 yard slant then steffy is your man. Wake up Ralph and put Steffy on the bench.

I became so sickened by Steffy's performance that I left the game early in protest.

As I have said on this message board time and again, Jordan Steffy IS NOT A VIABLE DIVISION I QUARTERBACK.

I think RF is suffering from a personality disorder or has a schizoaffective disorder. No sane person would be starting Steffy.
