Even if Healthy, Steffy Could Sit

I just talked to Ralph Friedgen, and I asked him whether Jordan Steffy would start at quarterback Saturday at Middle Tenn. State if he is healthy this week.

Ralph said: "I have not made that decision yet."

So we again have some decisions to make at the quarterback slot in College Park.

I also asked Ralph if he would have taken Steffy out early in the fourth quarter Saturday if he did not injure his right thumb. Ralph said, "I don't know that either because the decision was made after" Steffy got hurt.

Ralph said the injury concerns the bone in Steffy's right thumb. Ralph believes Steffy hurt it when he was sacked and fumbled the ball in he second half. Ralph is concerned about a possible fracture, and Steffy is expected to undergo X-Rays on Monday. Ralph said Steffy could barely hold a football right now.

"If he can't hold the ball, it's probably a serious injury," Ralph said. "But we will see where he is at."

Ralph also said he was trying to help Steffy out, protect him in a way, by not letting him speak to the media following the game.

I will have a good amount of more later tonight, but for right now, back to the barbecue.

Ralph, for the love of God, admit you were completely wrong by picking Steffy and name Turner as our rightful starter so there can be peace once again in Terps land.
