Cal Bears Not So Cuddly
Confidence doesn't seem to be a big problem on this Cal squad. Cornerback Syd'Quan Thompson apparently thinks three interceptions in a game is an attainable goal. Now Thompson has had three in the Bears' first two games combined and Maryland's quarterback play has been, um, underwhelming so far, so I guess you never know.
Meantime, Thompson's defensive teammate Worrell Williams implored the Bears' second- and third-stringers to "finish the job" in the second half of last week's 66-3 win at Washington State, rather than allow the score to become more respectable.
Friendly bunch. I hope they don't take issue with any band members or cheerleaders.
