LaMont Jordan: Bring Back Locksley
Former Terps, and current New England Patriots, running back LaMont Jordan is well-known for his support of the Maryland women's basketball team.
In this interview, Jordan shows considerably less enthusiasm for the current state of the Maryland football program. Go to Part 2 of the interview and forward to the 06:15 mark where Jordan, in decrying the recent loss to Middle Tennessee State, basically attributes the early success of the Ralph Friedgen era to players recruited by current Illinois offensive coordinator Mike Locksley. This notion has certainly been espoused elsewhere, including the comments section of this blog, but to hear it expressed so explicitly by a former player who remains involved with the athletic department, if not the football program, is somewhat alarming.

Hammer head hits nail. The truth is sometimes hard to digest...

Maryland's defensive line is a complete joke.
I have seen a better pass rush by Pop Warner and CYO teams.
Prediction for Maryland's upcoming game --
Califonia - 48
Maryland - 13
Maryland will finish with a 3-9 record (good for last place in the ACC - even behind Duke)
I am glad that Maryland is no longer recruiting Tavon Austin.
Jelani Jenkins and Travis Hawkins will be signing with the University of Florida.

Gary: A grown man who follows the decisions of 17 year olds intensely. Lamont is upset with the state of UMD football? Eric, tell LaMont I was upset with the state of UMD football the entire time he played at Maryland.

Locksley is the reason why alot of the great players from md are leaving the state to go to places like florida and Illinois. We aren't able to reach the kids in our own back yard anymore. This is a problem. Ralph has lost touch with the kids in the state md.

That was bad. He didn't want to talk about the football program at all until he saw a change in coaching.
