Meggett Back to 'Old Self'
Ralph Friedgen met with Davin Meggett last week because he wanted to find out why Meggett’s effort in practice had slacked off since training camp. Friedgen got his message across, because Meggett had a key 38-yard run against Cal and a critical one-yard touchdown run on the next play. Meggett also has looked stronger in practice this week and the true freshman could hold the key for the Terrapins against Eastern Michigan if starter Da’Rel Scott is sidelined with a sprained left shoulder.
“Monday night, Davin was back to old self,” Friedgen said. “His pass protection, which had been a liability, improved Saturday. If Da’Rel can’t go, he has to come up big for us this game. He really does. We are going to count on that, very much so.”
