Navarre: We Let This Team Down

Here is the interview with Jeremy Navarre:

“Wake up call. I guess we thought we were better than we were. We have to start working. We let this team down. We’re going to come in Monday and start busting our [butt] to get things right.

“A lot of times we were not lining up quick enough. We didn’t look very organized out there.

“I told them, we saw the seniors last year, we’re too close to a group and we have to start working hard.

“You have to pursue the ball so they don’t get yards after the catch. It’s frustrating. We have to start working, and we have to work harder.

“Right now, all we are is a bunch of hype.

“You can’t come in thinking this is a gimme. We didn’t practice well Thursday. We are a senior team, but we didn’t get the job done. Experience only goes so far. We were hyped up and things didn’t start going our way.

“In the first half we were horrible and only gave up 10 points. We said let’s pick it up. We didn’t play well.”

I am sick and tired of the Terps football team making excuses.

Frankly, they are on a downward spiral and the sooner they will be.

Here's the break down...

1/ The offensive coordinator is a joke. He needs to GET out off dodge immediately. His form of WCO is aweful ... pathetic!

2/ The speedsters need to be put on the field.

3/ Need to get the ball to our players ... Darius Heyward-Bey and Scott.

4/ Need to shore up our defense. We just can't stop the run... and the DB lack man-to-man coverage.

5/ The kicker needs to be "kicked" off the team. What a inept player!

Cheers!

Worse Maryland performance in 40 years since I started supporting Maryland football. Turner is clueless. Defensive backs play ten years off the ball when you know they are going to throw a slant. players and coaches owe their fans an appology for such a dismal performance.

Coach Ralph Friedgen, for Christsake ... please take over the offensive play calling.

The offense on display yesterday was simply offensive. Coach Franklin is a joke. My dog can bark out better plays ... and, he has never played real football. Getting the picture? Are you really?

Yow and her meddling ways has screwed the rising Univ of Maryland Football program. All the top assistants are gone, and we are seeing subpar coaches making subpar calls and putting a subpar team on the field.

Add to that our subpar recruiting. Why can't we get an elite QB to come here? Why are there so many out of shape seniors playing? Why are'nt the freshmen being given a chance?

So many questions, and so few answers.

Time for the Terps to regroup, and figure this out. Coach Cosh - please come up with better defensive schemes. Coach Franklin please make intelligent offense plays calling. And, the Terp team - please play with pride, and intensity. No excuses. You MUST win!
