Obi's Long Season
It has already been a long season for Maryland kicker Obi Egekeze. He has missed all five of his field goals this season, including today's 27-yard attempt. Coach Ralph Friedgen, when asked about his kicker, said: "That is a concern and it is probably going to be something I am going to do something about."
At the least, Friedgen is expected to have an open competition this week in practice. He could also just award the job to Nick Wallace, who has been coming on strong.
Should Ralph make it a one-week competition in practice or simply give the job to Wallace?

Give Wallace the job. He isn't your typical walk-on.
The kid was named top freshman in his conference at IUP as well as first team All-Conference.

what i dont understand is why when you have a kicker who is stuggling and obviously has a confidence problem why you dont try to help him out by positioning the ball in the center of the field.
we had the ball 1st down in the red zone on the left hash mark...
play...run left...ok no sweat...
second down and 9 on the left hash mark...
play...run left...ok no problem
3rd down adn 6 from the left hash mark...
this is where i dont understand the play call...dont you think you run up the middle to the righ side of your center and move the ball into a better position to help your stuggling kicker? or even better...just have turner run to the center of the hashmarks and take a knee...but at least run a play that moves the ball to the right...maybe the play goes all the way to the right but i figure if it gets that far maybe they pick up a first down anyway and it doesnt matter...but help your kicker out a litle bit eh?

Give the new guy the job--how much worse can he do than missing every attempt
