Poll: Terps' Defensive Strategy?

It's tough to decide which unit is more banged-up, Maryland's secondary or Clemson's offensive line. That leads us to a poll question.

It's going to have to be a mixture of the three depending on the situation. In my opinion, the most important is limiting the run game/playmakers.

The bottom line, though, is that we need to be aggressive.

The important thing to remember about blitzing is teams can run blitz as well as pass blitz. I believe we should do everything we can to put pressure on their line.

Kelly has been unproductive so far this season. This can't be his "breakout" game? I say make them beat us with the pass. FREDTERP

You gotta blitz a banged up offensive line. See the Giants/Eagles last year, the Eagles couldn't do anything with people in the backfield the entire game.

Whatever the correct choice is, rest assured Cosh will make the incorrect one.

Prediction:

Clemson -- 48
Maryland -- 17

Maryland will finish with a 4-8 record (good for last place in the ACC - even behind Duke).

I am happy that Maryland is no longer recruiting Tavon Austin.

Jelani Jenkins, Travis Hawkins and Isaac Holmes will be signing with the University of Florida.

Oh man Gary the repeat poster is back! Same score he predicted for Cal, that worked out... I think Garys a WVU alumn. Wonder if he wants to talk about the state of his program?

I'm sure Cosh will use lots of LB blitzes where the LB runs straight into an uncovered OL.

A few notes:

1. I feel like Davis/Spiller are going to get a decent number of yards. I just hope that they come on a few big plays and not in 7 yard chunks. I can handle one or two breakout runs as long as we stifle them the rest of the time. We are capable of doing this.

2. Many people have made the good observation that it is absolutely critical that we get a lead early. Clemson was absolute Dog S after they were down against Bama.

3. With their O-line in the condition it is in, we need to bring blitzes and stunts the way we did the first 3 quarters against Cal. If they are one dimensional (as a result of being down early) and then Harper gets rattled, we win.

4. The poster "Gary" needs to realize what a horrible life he leads. Posting the same worthless "information" over and over, likely having no real close friends, needing attention from any outlet he can get so he picks an opposing teams' blog.

Go out and get laid.

WP: What is the best way for Maryland's defense to take advantage of Clemson's offensive line woes?

Me: How about play some defense?

Seriously, weren't all these options enumerated for the Middle Tennessee game?

Also seriously, the ACC is in trouble if Tommy B. pulls his head out of his bum and starts seriously utilizing Spiller and Davis. Let's hope he doesn't figure it out until two weeks from now.
