The Steffy Question
Question for everyone: Will Jordan Steffy start another game this season? Will Josh Portis start a game this season?
To review the news before I head into this meeting: Chris Turner is starting Saturday at Middle Tennessee State. Steffy is out at least three weeks because X-rays showed that the ligaments in his thumb had been torn from the bone. Portis will play this week as well.
When a reporter asked Friedgen how Turner played in practice all week, Friedgen gave a one-word answer: "Okay."
For TV coverage of the Terps check out the Terps Football Report, "Inside the Coach's Office with Ralph Friedgen," an interview with the coach live tonight during the 6:30 p.m. show on Comcast SportsNite. It will be right around 6:45.
I will also be talking to Ralph tonight, as well as Chris Turner and Jordan Steffy. I'll post quick updates on this blog. I will have a story tomorrow. I will also post the transcripts from all the interviews today at some point in the wee hours of the morning, so be sure to check out Terrapins Insider for more of everything UMd related.

The first thing I used to go to was the Terrapin Times. Now I go to this blog first to get the very latest info, then to TT for general comments. You have something and I would say so on TT but am afraid mgt. would be upset. In due course all terp fans will gravitate to you all.

Yeah, TT is not what it once was. However Turtle Sports Report (http://maryland.scout.com/)is an excellent message board. Lots of great info and discussions without fear of censorship...

Great blog--officially the "first stop" for Terp fball
Doubt that Steffy will start once Franklin realizes the solid pass/run threat that Turner/Portis pose.
Lastly, as a 30+ yr Terp fan, Byrd Stadium has never looked better--LOVE the new suites...time for our local companies to pony up the cash.

Steffy should not start again and should not have started to begin the season based on the only thing that matters: prior in-game performance. Turner starts from here on out(hopefully!).

Hopefully others will play well enough so it will never be considered..

Great job, Eric. Nice to see the Post and the Times really bumping up the Terps coverage with these blogs.
