Scott Could Have Returned

I included an update on Da'Rel Scott's injury in my game story, which should be posted now on the Web site. I believe it is. Columnist Mike Wise also wrote a column, so check that out too. And Steve Yanda wrote a Cal sidebar on the blog, so check that out too.

As for Scott, he injured his left shoulder in the third quarter. He went to the locker room and had a fluoroscope procedure, which I believe is a type of X-ray. Scott came back out to the field, but did not return. The team doc told Friedgen he could have re-entered the game, but Meggett was running pretty well and Friedgen did not want to take a chance of Scott getting hit again and then perhaps losing him for next week. I believe Friedgen mentioned that it may be the AC joint at issue, and the coach will see how Scott fares in practice. But this does not appear to be serious at this point.

This begs the question: If Scott got a quasi-X-ray during the game, why did the starting QB Steffy have to wait three days to get one??

Not a big deal, but maybe have links to stories you cite. That would make it easier to get to them.
