Some Good, Some Bad for Riley and the Bears
Cal quarterback Kevin Riley looked good early in the Bears' latest drive, throwing a 29-yard strike to LaReylle Cunningham down to the Maryland 19. On the next play, Riley faked a hand-off to Jahvid Best going to the right, then pitched it to Jeremy Ross who was running to the left. Ross picked up 13 yards down to the Maryland 6.
But then Riley's passes began to waver, underthrowing a reciever in the end zone on first down and then overthrowing a receiver on third down.
David Seawright booted a 22-yard field goal.
