Some Lineup Tweaks

Ralph Friedgen announced some tweaks in the lineup for the Cal game, especially on the struggling offensive line. Left tackle Scott Burley could see action at both tackle positions, and Bruce Campbell, listed as backup at left tackle, will take Burley’s slot when Burley is moved to right tackle.

Among other adjustments:

Freshman Kenny Tate is expected to see action at strong safety to spell Jeff Allen, who played close to 80 plays last week … Antwine Perez will start at free safety in place of the injured Terrell Skinner, and Jamari McCollough will see playing time there as well. … Sophomore kicker Nick Wallace is “making a move,” Friedgen said, and could play this week … Dean Muhtadi is expected to see some action at defensive end to spell Mack Frost, who has been “bothered” by an ankle injury, Friedgen said.

Why the quote around "bothered"? Wasn't the rest of the sentence a loose quote? Or is it to imply he's not really hurt at all?

I put the word bothered in quotes because it was Friedgen's word. He often gets all over people for asking about injuries or even writing about injuries, so I just wanted to attribute it to him so he wouldn't forget he said the word bothered and think I used that word to describe the injury, as if I had seen the player Thursday to ask about his injury. Can't hurt to use the coach's word.
