Terrapins Injury Update

Sorry this is slightly later than promised. Eric got tied up with some interviews for what should be an fun story in tomorrow's paper.

Here's today's injury update from Ralph Friedgen:

  • Da'Rel Scott remains questionable for Saturday because of a sprained AC joint inhis left shoulder. It sounded as if he would be limited if he is able to play, with a focus on getting him healthy for the Sept. 27 at Clemson.

  • Defensive end Mack Frost is doubtful after re-injuring a knee.

  • Defensive back Richard Taylor (knee) and wide receiver Laquan Williams (foot) are out.

In other news, Friedgen said that during Monday's practice, sophomore walk-on place kicker Nick Wallace missed a 51-yard field goal attempt and that Obi Egekeze made a kick from the same distance. Friedgen said the kicking competitions will continue in practice this week, and the performances will help determine who kicks in Saturday's game.

Stay tuned for more from Eric, including a detailed discussion of Eastern Michigan's elaborate punter subterfuge.

If there's ANY chance of Scott re-aggravating that injury I'd rather just have him sit and put the saddle on Meggett.

Yes, forget the 51-yarder; let's do something a little more reasonable.

I agree that they should sit Scott. The Terps are going to need him to be healthy for the ACC season. I love Meggett but it would also be nice to get Green in there to see what he can do. Green looked awesome in the spring game.
