Weighing In

I don’t subscribe to The Murfreesboro Post, but I have been reading it this week. Check this little nugget out from writer Josh Ezzell: “Against Maryland MTSU will face a team with a gigantic offensive line that averages 315 pounds per lineman. The Blue Raiders, conversely, average 257 pounds per [defensive] lineman.”

“They’re all big,” MTSU linebacker Danny Carmichael told the newspaper. “I think they’re gonna come in here and try to pound the ball down our throat.”

Add in the weather. Today it is a balmy 89 degrees in Murfreesboro with 59 percent humidity. The battle at the line of scrimmage will be something to keep an eye on. Anyone think MTSU’s defensive line can hang with Maryland’s offensive line, one of the best in the ACC??

EP the 7pm start should help with the heat. A quick start by DScott will be better? FREDTERP

I would look for a LOT of Scott and Meggett not only to wear them out but to keep their spread offense that Ralph seems to be so concerned about off the field. Good game for Turner to get into the flow and to get Portis some time.

Having Green as the third RB will help lighten the load for Scott and Meggett and help stave off fatigue and cramping. Hopefully the coaches will open up the passing game for some game time practice before Cal.
