Friedgen on ACC Teleconference

On the ACC teleconference, Maryland Coach Ralph Friedgen said the Terrapins spent the bye week working on fundamentals and trying to improve their run blocking. When asked if he will have an answer for Wake Forest’s stout defense, Friedgen said: “Wait until Saturday to see that --- if we have one.” He said the team’s attitude to improve has been strong, and that sometimes that is half the battle. But he continued to rave about Wake’s defense and experience, saying that it “feels like some of the players have been at Wake Forest as long as I have been at Maryland.”

And Friedgen expects kicker Sam Swank to play Saturday.

Can we just play old fashioned football saturday?

The kind where the defense just lines up and hits everyone with a different color jersey. And hits them again and again and again. And gang-tackles the guy with the ball. And goes after the QB and knocks him on his butt. Play with an attitude.

On offense, how about that big offensive line doing the with pride and just knock anyone with a different color jersey on their butt. And for Gods sake, get the ball in the hands of DHB. Hell I dont care if he has to line up behind center and take a direct snap, he is our playmaker. Oh and remember our TEs, Gronk and Watson? Get them involved too.

This is the key game of the year, coming off a humilating loss at UVA which was worse than losing to MTSU, this game will show the kind of character the Terps have.

I loved this result.

Virginia -- 31
Maryland -- 0 (zero - zip - zilch - nada)

Maryland's - Defensive and Offensive lines and Linebacking corp are the worst in College Football.

I have seen harder hitting teams in powder puff leagues.

Maryland's recruiting efforts are going to take a major hit with this result.

Wake Forest -- 34
Maryland -- 10

Maryland will finish with a 5-7 record.

Go Tar Heels !
