Friedgen: We Need More Offensive Leadership

Ralph Friedgen just finished up his teleconference on the ACC call. He said once again that he needs more leadership on the offensive side. Who does everyone think needs to step up there? Darrius Heyward-Bey? Chris Turner? Edwin Williams? Da’Rel Scott?

Virginia’s Mikell Simpson ran 16 times for 119 times and two touchdowns in Virginia’s 18-17 victory against Maryland last season. He also caught 13 passes for 152 yards. “We didn’t know a whole lot about him” last season, Friedgen said. “Obviously we pay a lot of attention to him now because that was his coming-out party.”

Some of those big Senior on the OL (Burley/Thomas/Randolph) need to step up with the Run Blocking. FREDTERP

I predict no one will step up and Virginia will win 47-2.

Maryland will finish 4-8.

I'm glad Maryland is no longer recruiting Tavon Austin or Shawne Merriman.

Isaac Holmes, Travis Hawkins, Jelani Jenkins and Jess Atkinson will attend Florida.

Go Duke!

Quick someone call Simpson the next Reggie Bush so I can laugh at him as he tries to crawl off the field and spews his lunch all over the field Saturday. After that oh so annoying loss last year something along the lines of 41-10 (with Portis playing the entire 4th quarter) would be just right in my eyes.

It has to be EWill and it's not even close. The O-line has yet to have a really dominating performance, despite the fact that it was so highly touted pre-season with the level of experience and size they have. We should be able to run against ANYBODY. Da'Rel only needs a marginal hole to pick up 15 yards and they haven't been able to consistently give him that.
