Swank Looks Doubtful

Just got word from Wake Forest that Coach Jim Grobe said today that heralded kicker Sam Swank probably will not play against Maryland. Swank officially remains listed as questionable on the injury report because of a quad injury.

More to come. Never seen this much suspense about the health of a kicker, but the availability of Swank is one of the big questions looming this week. I will have an update at noon Wednesday.

This really gives the Terps an advantage. He might be the best kicker in the ACC. Most close games will come down to the special teams and the kicking game.

This will undoubtedly influence the play calling as well. Instead of running the ball on a 3 and 5 from the 30, they may go for the pass instead. You may see them go for it on 4th in the same situation or just punt if they are farther back.

Let us all say a little prayer - that Sam Swank will play Saturday.
