Who Have Been the Quirkiest Terps?
This really has nothing to do with Maryland, but it's a bye week and it's too good not to share. Arian Foster is less than 350 yards from becoming Tennessee's career leading rusher. Not surprisingly, some of the media that cover the Vols are interested in speaking with Foster, who says he's more than happy to oblige -- provided the interviewers speak Pterodactyl.
Anyway, the whole thing got me to thinking about who have been the biggest characters to play for the Terps in any sport. Certainly of the current crop, Chris Turner would make the list; Bambale Osby, perhaps, from the recent hoops squad. But I can't remember anyone speaking Pterodactyl. The football team's performance pattern has been quirky, to say the least, but the players as a group seem more earnest than out-there. Surely I'm forgetting some obvious examples. Who are some of the quirky personalities who have donned the Terps' uniform in any sport?

Exree Hipp always seemed pretty quirky. Byron Mouton was damn excited to be on a title contender and a pretty good quote. Vasquez is probably quirkier than Osby. Steve Suter always seemed a little bit nuts to me...

I loved this result.
Virginia -- 31
Maryland -- 0 (zero - zip - zilch - nada)
Maryland's - Defensive and Offensive lines and Linebacking corp are the worst in College Football.
I have seen harder hitting teams in powder puff leagues.
Maryland's recruiting efforts are going to take a major hit with this result.
Prediction:
Wake Forest -- 34
Maryland -- 10
Maryland will finish with a 5-7 record.
I am happy that Maryland is no longer recruiting Tavon Austin.
Jelani Jenkins, Travis Hawkins and Isaac Holmes will be signing with the University of Florida.

The horrendous hoops teams that included Ebekwe, Mike Jones, Caner-Medley, Strawberry, etc. Those guys were as inconsistent as it comes.
Stevie Franchise was quirkey has hell too.
