Brushing Up With Some Gameday Reading

Because tonight's game involves two teams we try to cover, I haven't highlighted out-of-town media as much as some weeks, but obviously there's plenty of good coverage out there that isn't ours. And on game day, who can get enough?

In the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Darryl Slater tells us of the efforts of the Virginia Tech seniors to get the team back on track. IN the Daily Press, Norm Wood says the Hokies can't afford to abandon the pass just because their quarterbacks are hurt, and David Teel talks with the last third-string quarterback to win a big game for Virginia Tech. In the Washington Times, Patrick Stevens explores the Terps' struggles facing mobile quarterbacks, which they might or might not do tonight. And finally in the Baltimore Sun, David Steele, brother of our NBA editor Alexa Steele, writes about what a victory would mean for Maryland.

If you get through all that, you should have plenty to talk about with Prisbell and Yanda during their college football online chat at 2 p.m. today.

Let us all say a prayer that Virginia Tech beats Maryland.

Virginia Tech -- 37
Maryland -- 13

I am extremely happy that Maryland stopped recruiting Tavon Austin - too much of an academic risk.

Go Tar Heels !
