Vasquez Out Tomorrow
Maryland Coach Gary Williams said this afternoon that junior guard Greivis Vasquez will not play in tomorrow's exhibition game against Northwood. He also said freshman guard Sean Mosley may not play due to an ankle injury.
Williams said Mosley suffered a low ankle sprain during practice last Friday when he came down on Vasquez's foot. Mosley was able to run Wednesday and Thursday, but Williams said Mosley's ability to make cuts is not at full strength. Williams said Mosley's performance during practice today would determine whether he would suit up tomorrow.
As for Vasquez, Williams said he would sit out due to a violation of team policy. Vasquez's ankle, which required surgery over the summer, is fine, according to Williams. The violation was a non-basketball related offense.
I'll post more from Williams's chat with the media in a few hours.
