Practices Closed

Most of you know that Frank Beamer has taken the unusual step to close practice to the media this week. Beamer's Virginia Tech team is usually one of the most open programs nationally, at least in terms of practice. Beamer doesn't want anything to leak out about the availability of Tyrod Taylor and Sean Glennon.

So yesterday Ralph Friedgen told a small group of beat writers that today's practice would be closed to the media. That's fine, actually, because there was no media access after practice today anyway.

Do fans care about this? Or is it just a media thing?

I'll be off to Friedgen's press conference in four hours.

Media thing I think. As a fan I like getting the injury updates but if VT is keeping things closed MD should do the same. Good for the goose good for the gander.

it would be nice to be able to enjoy the MGN benefit of watching practice again, at the very LEAST during fall camp before the season. I can understand in-season...
