Reporter Rips ACC

I was surprised to see Jason King of Yahoo in the press box yesterday because I didn't think anyone outside the ACC's footprint cared about this conference this season. Then again, this was a bad week for big games and if you are looking for pure chaos and head-scratching fun, just stop by at any ACC game any week.

Jason has an interesting take on the ACC. Again, some see it as mediocrity. Some see it as very entertaining.

I liked that Jason described the scene in the press box yesterday. Reporters are not allowed to cheer. But at times, cheers could be heard for both teams. Then an announcement was made that there is no cheering in the press box. Funny stuff. I have not seen that much cheering in a press box since a game in Morgantown a few years ago.

I emailed that joker some facts to straighten him out a bit.

Conference record vs BCS competition:
Conf. Record Pct.
ACC 12-7 .632
Big East
8-7 .533
7-8 .467
Big Ten
6-7 .462
5-6 .455
Pac 10
5-8 .385

Furthermore, the following is the combined record of each league's BCS opposition:
Conf. Record Pct.
Pac 10
81-47 .633
109-69 .612
Big East
Big Ten
67-53 .558
56-45 .554
82-68 .547

In a nutshell, the ACC might end up winning 6 or 7 bowl games.
