Terps' Costa Suspended Indefinitely
Just heard from Prisbell that linebacker Rick Costa, who has started twice and played in all nine of the Terps' games this season, has been suspended indefinitely because of an off-campus incident. Costa is second on the team in sacks (with three) and tackles for losses (with seven). He has been in on 22 tackles, 11 of them solo, this season.
Given the usual flow of information from the athletic department in these situations, it might be a while before we can fill in the details, but Eric will have more from Coach Ralph Friedgen's luncheon this afternoon.

Patrick Stevens at the Washington Times has a lot more info on this. Costa got arrested after punching an officer in the face at Cornerstone Bar and Grill last night. He could be out a lot longer than one game.
In other news Rick Costa put in his papers to transfer to PSU where this type of activity is more acceptable.
