A Red Football Field?

So I believe the field in Bronco Stadium went blue in 1986. And it remains blue to this day. Maryland Coach Ralph Friedgen said he talked to someone who has played on the field.

“You’ve got to watch yourself, you’ll keep staring into it,” Friedgen said. “It kind of mesmerizes you. That got me a little worried. It is really tough when Boise State wears all blue.”

The rumor that ducks crash onto the field because they think it is a lake is false.

Friedgen said someone offered to paint the Byrd Stadium field red. Anyone up for that, or should they keep the darn thing green?

Eww... red and green? It'll be Christmas all year round!

I'm pretty sure the NCAA banned non-green football fields after BSU did it, but Boise was grandfathered in. Terrible idea either way, the blue looks horrible, and red would be worse (though, I realize this is asked with tongue planted firmly in cheek).

Oh, and I hope Byrd stays real grass. It's a shame so many stadiums are transitioning to astroturf...

Nevada -- 38
Maryland -- 10

Maryland will finish with a 2-10 record next year.

I am extremely happy that Maryland, stopped recruiting Tavon Austin.

Jelani Jenkins will look great in a Florida Gator uniform next year.

Go Tar Heels !

I shouldn't feed the trolls but...don't forget the regular season and ACC Tournament wins against UNC this year too.

Its outrageous that the NCAA allows a blue feild with the home team in all blue uniforms! If the fans dress for a blueout how is the opposing team supposed to see the camoflaged Boise State players? This is not a homefeild advantage. Its CHEATING!!! Its no wonder Boise Stated almost never loses at home!

Non-green field are still allowed; University of New Haven put in a blue field this year. Since the Terps are putting in Field Turf anyway, why not go red and have Terp Terp, sure beats Smurf Turf.
