Humanitarian Bowl News Release Forthcoming
As I reported two hours ago, Rick Chryst, commissioner of the Mid-American Conference, told me that Boise State-Ball State will not be played. And a Ball State official told me the Cardinals would play in a MAC bowl game. That clears the way for a Maryland berth in the Humanitarian Bowl in Boise, Idaho, on Dec. 30. The opponent would probably be Nevada, because undefeated Boise State is likely to take a more appealing matchup with Texas Christian in San Diego.
Kevin McDonald, the executive director of the Humanitarian Bowl, told me a short time ago that a news release will arrive in my inbox in less than an hour. He is in a meeting right now working everything out. Whether the release says Ball State has passed or whether it announces the H-bowl matchup is anyone's guess at this point. But we are moving closer to a resolution, and that's good, because I need to hit the road for Michigan-Maryland.

We loved for UMD to go to Bowl Games, but after last year, I want an East Coast Bowl. Boise on December 30th is not my idea of a Bowl Game. Charlotte, Nashville, Orlando or Washington, D. C. A D. C. Bowl would save money for fans, the team, everyone and it would be fun to play Navy again. Anywhere on the East Coast, but not another expensive trip west!!!!!

"...undefeated Boise State is likely to take a more *appealing matchup with Texas Christian* in San Diego."
I know the Terps gagged their last two games but this is how low Maryland football has come if Texas Christian is more appealing than a team that beat four teams in the top 25 this season.
