Final Bracket. I Think.

Okay, everyone. I shifted Maryland to the U-Conn. region to balance the bracket correctly. I have Terps-West Virginia (Gary meets Billy Hahn and Huggins) in a 6-11 game. I made one other switch, although it tore my heart out. i put Saint Mary's in, San Diego State out.

Saint Mary's beat San Diego State during the season, and I do think the Mills factor will come into play. San Diego State has a good resume, but as a local media personality pointed out, the wins over UNLV don't look as good now because UNLV is out of the field. I still like SDS, but I give Saint Mary's a slight edge. I like Penn State because, despite the poor non-conference SOS, the Lions have played their way back into the field through Big Ten victories. Close call. Arizona is right there. I'm not a big Creighton guy.

The report card on how I do - number of top seeds correct, number of teams within one seed of actual seed, and number of teams correct --- will be in tomorrow's paper, so I need to nail this. I am competing against the likes of Jerry Palm, Joe Lunardi, Dave Neal and Patrick Stevens, all very good. Last year I got one wrong, so we'll see. This year is tougher.

Hoping for the Philly region, in a matchup against a 5 seed from the Big East. We could probably get upwards of 5,000 fans to Philly.

6PM can not get here quick enough. It does not matter where we play as long as we can get in. Not this this is even close to the feeling of having a kid but it is like my wife is in labor and I am waiting for the baby to be born. I know our resume is pretty good compared to all the other bubble teams we are in line with but I would feel alot more comfortable if we beat Duke yesterday. Those large deficit losses early in the season make me nervous.

The NCAA committee is not stupid. If they were to take into consideration our margin of defeat against, say, Duke by 41 points, they would see that guys like Steve Goins, David Pearlman, and Jin Soo Kim played extended minutes for MD in the 2nd half of that game. If Gary had played Vasquez, Hayes etc the entire game, it would not have been a 41 point loss. The very large margin of that loss won't hurt us.

Nope, need to do one more final bracket. Thanks a lot Tennessee.
