Douglas Shines in Second Scrimmage
This will be a brief blog entry for Sunday night, with more coverage of Maryland’s second scrimmage throughout the day tomorrow. The story of the day was redshirt freshman running back Gary Douglas, who made a move in his competition with junior Morgan Green for the No. 3 running back position.
Douglas had 122 yards on 17 carries, and four runs of 15 or more yards. On one drive, Douglas accounted for 72 of the team’s 80 yards.
Maryland Coach Ralph Friedgen said Douglas may be Maryland’s most elusive back. The problem is Douglas’s pass protection.
There is some depth at running back, even more than most realized. More on Douglas tomorrow…
Who's excited about the potential of Douglas?
