Franklin Making a Move in the Secondary
Maryland Coach Ralph Friedgen has been looking for a fifth safety. Jamari McCollough, Kenny Tate, Antwine Perez and Terrell Skinner are all well entrenched at the safety position. True freshman Eric Franklin, who had a scrimmage-best eight tackles and intercepted Chris Turner on Sunday, is making a fun at being the fifth member of the group.
“We are hoping he will be the fifth safety for us,” Friedgen said. “We held Jamari out because he is banged up a little bit. But he will be back. We really wanted to find out if Eric Franklin could go. We think he will develop into a good safety for us this year.”
Among the true freshmen, who are you most excited about this season? Running backs D.J. Adams or Caleb Porzel? Offensive linemen Bennett Fulper or Pete White? Or defensive back Eric Franklin? Has to be Porzel, right?

Porzel. Put him back there with Torrey Smith and I doubt anyone will be willing to kick to us!
