Friedgen Planning on Permanent Team Captains
For the first time, Maryland will appoint permanent teams captains for the entire season. The Terrapin Council asked Coach Ralph Friedgen if it could do that. Friedgen said he wants to wait until the end of two-a-days and then let the team vote for two offensive players and two defensive players.
“I think we have the right leadership,” Friedgen said. “I just have to wait to see who the leaders become. I’ve never had [permanent captains] for the whole season. But I have confidence they will pick the right guys.”
Who gets your votes? Center Phil Costa and QB Chris Turner on offense?

As much as I hate the Yankees I like what they do regarding annointing someone Captain....unless there is a undisputed, well respected, no-brainer of a choice (ie Jeter), then there is no Captain. And with the Terps this year there isn't one of those. Fridge is the only Captain on this ship. Everyone else is just shipmates.

Turner does not have the stones to be a captain...He is just to laid back...Captains need to have respect and the guys do not respect him
