Fulper Making Progress at Guard
True freshman Bennett Fulper, who moved from center to guard earlier this week, is making strides at his new position.
“I was shocked Monday he didn’t make any mental mistakes at guard,” Maryland Coach Ralph Friedgen said. “His footwork was not bad. He did okay again Tuesday. If he could play both center and guard as a true freshman that would really help us.”
As for starting left tackle Bruce Campbell, Friedgen said he is pass protecting very well but needs to improve on his run blocking. “He needs to get lower,” Friedgen said. “He is very coachable. Not making many mental mistakes.”
