More Praise for the Young Running Backs
For what it’s worth, Ralph Friedgen has heaped more praise on his young running backs than his more veteran backs the last few days – and I don’t recall Friedgen even being specifically asked about the young guys.
On Wednesday, Friedgen again said that D.J. Adams and Caleb Porzel, both true freshman, have played well. He said redshirt freshman Gary Douglas has shown him something as well, but Douglas needs to improve his pass catching.
The one issue with Porzel, though, is that he needs to hold on to the football better.
“He has some quickness and he catches the ball very well,” Friedgen said. “He has fumbled the last two days. He has got to get that corrected. He is not going to play if he fumbles.”
