Shaun Hill Named 49ers' Starting Quarterback
Former Maryland quarterback Shaun Hill has been named the San Francisco 49ers' starting quarterback for the regular season. Hill, who is entering his eighth NFL season, started the final eight games of last season for the 49ers, completing 181 of 288 passes for 2,046 yards, with 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions. San Francisco went 5-3 over that span.

Congrats to Shuan Hill.
Chris Turner is next Terps QB to be in the NFL.
It's not all about arm strength and mobility. It's all about poise and making the correct read under pressure.

When he was at MD, he stood out for not making a lot of mistakes. He had some talent arounf him as well, and was a late bloomer at MD. Good luck to him and I hope he more than holds his job this year - and perhaps helps V Davis catch a few passes. That said, I hope SF's defense sucks and they have another losign season despite stellar play by Hill & Davis.

...and pretty soon he'll catch up to Todd Collins in career starts!

Viscardo - are you saying Jesus Christ can't read a Cover 2 or throw a deep out?

Turner in the NFL? He'll need to turn in a really solid year. Which is definitely possible. Here's to the Terps exceeding the 'expert projections' again.

As a terps and niners fan, I am loving this.

I imagine Jesus would be more of a drop back passer. Hard to run in sandals.

When are people gonna realize Shaun Hill is The Man? He took the Terps to the Orange Bowl! The Orange Bowl! Jesus Christ himself would've only taken them to the Gator Bowl.
