The Young Running Backs
When running backs coach John Donovan started a blocking drill Tuesday, Ralph Friedgen took notice because of what he heard.
D.J. Adams and Caleb Porzel, two freshman running backs, pounded the blocking sled and gave Friedgen an early glimpse of their intensity.
“I heard a guy hit the sled and said, ‘Whoa,’ Friedgen said. “It was Adams, he hit the heck out of it. Then Porzel hit it right after him and it wasn’t much different. He was just a littler bullet.”
Maryland looks in pretty good shape at running back this season. Da’Rel Scott is the starter, and, in no particular order, Davin Meggett and Morgan Green will also get carries. But Adams and Porzel are names for the future.

Eric, are they both going to redshirt? Heard rumors that Porzel wants to RS, which makes sense since there's an all conference back and 2 solid backups in front of him.
