About the ACC

I have tried to defend the ACC, I really have. I have never said it was a great football conference, but I said on television last week that it may be the most entertaining league to cover because virtually any team can win any conference game and there is no super-power. Well, the problem is when ACC teams play out of conference because they have demonstrated that they can also lose to virtually anyone on any day.

Duke falls to Richmond, Virginia falls to William & Mary, Wake Forest falls to Baylor, N.C. State falls to South Carolina, Maryland falls to California. One of the best performances, perhaps, was Virginia Tech’s, which came in a losing cause.

This is the fifth-best power conference. And this is a conference that is very close to being completely off the national radar once again.
