Carroll to Handle Coin Toss

Maryland Coach Ralph Friedgen said cornerback Nolan Carroll, who is lost for the year with a broken leg, will handle the coin toss duties Saturday. Maryland could really use Carroll on the field against Middle Tennessee, but his presence may motivate some players, at least that’s what they are hoping.

Carroll is unable to get a sixth year of eligibility because his redshirt season in 2005 was not because of a medical/injury reason.
