Torrey Smith Is Kind Of Fast
JMU moved the ball down the field crisply, covering 54 yards in four plays and 1:43, but Maryland kickoff return specialist Torrey Smith proved even more efficient.
Smith scored on an 81-yard kickoff return to give the Terps a 14-6 lead (JMU's extra point attempt was wide right). So the game was razor-close for roughly 10 seconds.
Last time a Maryland player scored on a kickoff return? Smith in last year's Humanitarian Bowl.
