Final: Maryland 24, Clemson 21

The last 6:02 of this game was absolutely wild. Maryland pulls out the win, 24-21.

What'd you think of the Terps performance today?

Did not think they had it in them. Kudos to Ralph. Maybe the good karma will wear off on the 'Skins.

I do not care what anyone says. This team played with alot of heart today and deserved to win. Hopefully this can give us some confidence for the rest of the season.

Finally the schedule eases up a bit. We played all our tough games early, now we should be able to rack up some wins in the awful ACC. Undefeated so far...

Tough games early? MTSU? Rutgers? JMU?

"mariolucusforthree", I think "Hobes" was being sarcastic/taking a stab at the ACC all in one.

Yes, played with heart. Nice win and hope it builds some confidence. Seems like our offense is the problem, turnovers, can't convert on 3rd and 4th and 1 (6 inches)... ughhh... But hopefully we can get 5/6 wins and give Fridge at least next year. It has been a few yrs of being average,,,,, but the 15 yrs before him were mostly 3 win seasons. so let's give him a chance.

But if Boise State, Utah, Fresno and TCU can be Top 25 programs, then why can't the Terps!

Fire Fridge! Fire Fridge! Where are you idiots now???

About to head to the game...let me know if they say anything on tv about C.J Spiller and Kyle Parker being repeatedly woken up in the middle of the night last night by a crazed MD fan calling their hotel room.

I have a feeling the Clemson team will not be staying at the Bethesda Marriot next time.

This prediction is not based on previous performance, fact, or anything justifiable in any way: Terps 24-Clemson 21.

Props to Viscardo on nailing the final score.

Let's see, what did others on here predict?

The defense pulled through. Questionable call by Ralph to go for it on 4th dwon in obvious FG territory....and when was the last time we actually saw a kicker get iced? Lotta mistakes in this one. Could have been a much easier win. Will take the victory anyway. Go TERPS!!!

I lost it when I saw Turner go back out there on 4th down. I honestly think Fridge is so used to trailing in the 4th quarter this season that he forget we were WINNING at the time. Absolutely, positively, the worst call I have ever seen a coach make in a football game at any level. I don't want to hear any nonsense from anyone about how you should be able to get 1 yard. You do not EVER go for it on your own 30 with 6 minutes left in a game when you are WINNING by a field goal.

Fridge redeemed himself tho with the 2 great time out calls that iced their kicker.

Great win today for the Terps! This team can be pretty good if they don't turn the ball over. The schedule is very favorable in the coming weeks.

All we are is Maryland; but that's enough.

Gotta admit that Poopy's award aceptance on the last thread was pretty good. Waiting for his comments on today's game.

Barno - Who'd have thunk the D would pull through and hold them at the 30 yd line after two, yes two huge mistakes (horrible decision to go for it followed by a fumble). Worse than JZ's decison in the 1Q of the Lions game. Unacceptable.

Regards -

At least they pulled it out.

Great gutsy win. Clemson is just as sloppy as we are. Besides the 4th down play, the end around pass attempt was easily the worst call. We need to focus on moving the ball forward.

It looks like we will end up only undefeated ACC Atlantic team after today. Go Terps!

Friedgen should make himself run stadium stairs for going for it on 4th and inches on his own 30 with a 3-point lead in the final minutes. Thank god for those two missed field goals and Demetrius Hartsfield's fumble recovery.

Maryland definitely outplayed Clemson in every phase of the game and it would have been horrible for the players to have lost because of the coaching staff's stupidity.

Fridge is a great, great coach. But every once in a while, he'll do something so incredibly unconventional you just have to scratch your head. I remember being down by 2 scores with just a few minutes left several years back and he decided to punt on a 4th and 10 play. He said after the game he was hoping for a fumble on the punt. How do you think a fumble is more likely than getting a first down on 4th and 10? Similarly, how do you think the positives of gaining a yard on your own 30 when you're up 3 late in a game outweigh the negatives if you don't convert? No excuse for the call...I'm just glad it didn't cost us.

That was a great win for the Terps. Our boys played with a lot heart today. Turner really turned things around in the 2nd. The defense stood tall on many occasions. (How about those two stops late in the fourth?) Finally, Ferrara and Smith were heroes on special teams. Keep making us proud!
