Men's basketball scrimmage tomorrow

For those of you in need of something to do before trick-or-treating, the Maryland men's basketball team will host an intrasquad scrimmage that is open to the public tomorrow at Comcast Center at 1 p.m.

Maryland sits just outside of both main top 25 polls. The Terrapins garnered 100 votes in the coaches' poll, falling 11 short of No. 25 Syracuse. Maryland was even closer to top 25 inclusion in the Associated Press poll, in which it received one less vote (171) than No. 25 Minnesota (172).

One of the Terrapins who will take part in Saturday's scrimmage is senior guard Greivis Vasquez, who was one of 50 players named yesterday to the preseason watch list for the 2010 Naismith Award. Nine players from the ACC, including Vasquez, were named to the Naismith watch list. Here they are:

Florida State sophomore center Solomon Alabi
Wake Forest sophomore forward Al-Farouq Aminu
Clemson senior forward Trevor Booker
North Carolina sophomore forward Ed Davis
Georgia Tech freshman forward Derrick Favors
Virginia sophomore guard Sylven Landesberg
Georgia Tech junior forward Gani Lawal
Duke junior forward Kyle Singler
Maryland senior guard Greivis Vasquez

Also included on the list was Georgetown sophomore center Greg Monroe.
