Predictions for the Clemson-Maryland Game
It's Friday, everyone, and that means time for predictions. Maryland entered the week as about a two-touchdown underdog to Clemson, and I think that is about right. Opinions are mixed on Clemson right now. Most agree that its defense is very good and its special teams are very good. The question is the offense. Count me among those who believe in the offense more than most. Texas Christian, which beat Clemson 14-10 last week, has one of the nation's best defenses year after year.
I understand quarterback Kyle Parker has been nothing if not uneven, and that the offensive line needs to improve some, as well. But the Tigers have two of the fastest players in college football in running back C.J. Spiller and wide receiver Jacoby Ford. Even if they are basically your only two true playmakers, Maryland still has to find a way to contain them over the course of a 60-minute game.
In the past, this was a game Clemson would lose. But in the past, this was a game Maryland would have a better chance to win.
