Terps to wear camo for Virginia Tech game

UPDATED 12:49 P.M. WITH PHOTOS

According to an Associated Press report, Maryland will wear honor those who have served in the military by wearing uniforms featuring camouflage designs for its Nov. 14 game against Virginia Tech at Byrd Stadium.

The move will serve to promote the Wounded Warrior Project, which provides services and programs for injured military men and women.

According to a press release: "The teams will take the field in black and desert camouflage uniforms featuring the Wounded Warrior Project logo. The uniforms will also have a unique twist; a core value embellishment -- Duty, Honor, Courage, Commitment, Integrity, Country, and Service -- will replace the players' last name on the back of each jersey."

The uniforms will be created by Under Armour. "Partnering with an organization such as the Wounded Warrior Project allows Under Armour a unique opportunity to connect with college football fans and our athletes on a whole new level, while also supporting the overall mission of the Wounded Warrior Project -- to build public awareness and help support injured service men and women and their families," said Kevin Plank, founder and CEO of Under Armour. "We will continue to both honor and empower those who have been wounded and we are proud to support our troops."

South Carolina also will wear camouflage uniforms on Nov. 14 for its home game against Florida.

How do you let the masses "tee off" on you if you're not here? Barno should've manned up and stuck around.

Looks like Barney couldn't stay away from his self-imposed "blog timeout" for long could he?

Not that any of us expected him to actually honor his own words......

Poopy is mad at Barno1 for NOT sticking around, then he's mad at Barno1 FOR sticking around. Which is it Poopy_McPoop? That's indisputable proof right there that your only goal is to be annoying to others and don't even believe your own comments. You add nothing to the blog except idiotic, unfunny, comments. Just go away already. No one wants you here.

Sorry buddy but it's called, calling people out on their own words. Not that I'd expect you to get it. 'Tis life though.

Snazzy Uniforms though.

Looks like Barno was a topic of discussion over at Steinber's live Bog chat today. Interesting.

I think these uniforms look colossally stupid, but it's for a good cause, so whatever.

Maybe now this game will actually be on TV for people to see a unique aspect of what will be an unfortunately dreadful game.

I'm not buying one, but they're not as bad as they could have been.

How soon until Basketball?
I hate seeing ralph go through this. I genuinely like him and believe him to be a great coach - even with his current dismal record. He seems a bit overwhelmed with the bouncing ball comments. MD should never have been in that position with JMU and MTSU. And in weather like this weekend's - run the ball.

We miss you Barno.

Yeah the Twerps can wear all the Cammo Uniforms you want to but I won't soon forget what happened the last time Md and Navy played. Md players did a lot of low class trash talking - that goes for their low-life fans also.

Agreed - just a touch of cammo doesn't look terrible. And it is for a great cause, so that's the important thing.

Oh my god! Football players were (*gulp*)... Talking trash?!?

As a combat veteran and a Maryland alumnus, let me say to BillM: No one cares! I was at that game sitting in the Navy section getting heckled the whole time. That is until late in the third quarter or so, when we starting coming back and your "classy" Navy fans suddenly stopped running their sucks. So shove your sanctimonious attitude up your own ass, buddy.
