Williams Has Surgery on His Back
Maryland men's basketball coach Gary Williams underwent a successful surgical procedure Tuesday to repair a disk problem in his back.
Williams is expected to rest for a week and then return in time to kick off the season at the team's media day Oct. 15. Maryland Madness will take place the following night.
