Va. Tech official: 'Very good chance' Terps-Hokies game to be delayed

This afternoon's matchup between Maryland and Virginia Tech likely will be delayed a few hours while university officials address a water main issue that arose earlier today. No new start time for today's game has been announced, and it still is possible that the game will begin at its originally scheduled tip-off time of 4 p.m., a Virginia Tech official said.

The Virginia Tech official said the game will be played today, but that there was a "very good chance" it will be delayed after a beer truck ran into a fire hydrant on campus. In an attempt to fix that problem, other issues arose and now there is flooding in several areas on campus. In addition to traffic issues, there are currently are no working bathrooms at Cassell Coliseum.

Maryland and Virginia Tech players have begun warming up on the court.

Stay tuned for more details as they become available.

This is sad. Why is a beer truck even driving through campus? And beer trucks are supposed to bring joy, not delays.
