Greivis Vasquez on 'The Mike Wise Show'
Greivis Vasquez was just on "The Mike Wise Show," on 106.7 FM. Here's some quotes (I'll try to transcribe the whole interview when they podcast it):
On the loss to Michigan State:
“Man, you know, I can’t get over it yet....It’s just so hard, I just can’t focus. Every other minute, I just think of how we lost the game....It’s really hard to swallow, and then, just thinking back, it’s one of those games you just never forget....I thought we got it, but unfortunately that kid, Lucious, made that big three.”
On the last few minutes of the game, when the Terrapins made a frenzied comeback:
“The whole game I thought Michigan State came out ready to play....They got us on the glass, they started running fast breaks on us....They were mkaing threes, big guys were making middle-range jump shots....Even with all that, being a leader, I never panicked. I knew we were making a run....Coach Williams keep saying that, too, so we got that message, and the last two minutes we just took over....We took the lead twice the last 45 seconds....For us to come back the way we came back, it was just remarkable.”
On his pro prospects:
“I’m taking it very serious....My thing is, I want to help a team win games. I don’t want to be a superstar....I just want to take a team to the next level and help my team win....I don’t want to say I’m gonna get drafted, but I’m confident I can play in the NBA and help a team win games....My main concern, I want to play in the NBA in the right situation.”
