Tillman, Van Arsdale are front-runners for men's lacrosse opening
Tillman and Van Arsdale have interviewed in person, according to both sources, with Tillman having been at Maryland on a Sunday earlier this month and Van Arsdale having been there last week and possibly this past Sunday.
Tillman is believed to have a slight lead on Van Arsdale, two sources who spoke on condition of anonymity said, though the third source said there was no clear-cut leader. Messages left for Tillman were not immediately returned.
Tillman has gone 20-19 in three years at Harvard. He previously had been an assistant at Navy.
Van Arsdale was the head coach for five years at Penn from 1997 to 2001. His teams went 27-39. He has been at Virginia since 2002. He is considered one of the top assistant coaches in the game and is especially adept with offense.
