Friedgen on his backup quarterbacks
Maryland starting quarterback Jamarr Robinson has exceeded the expectations of his head coach so far in training camp. Robinson has exhibited strong leadership and poise. Everyone already knew he had a very strong arm and possessed impressive athleticism. Coach Ralph Friedgen said he still needs to find consistency; in fact, the passing game, regardless of who is playing quarterback, has not been consistent. And wide receivers are dropping too many passes.
Here is Friedgen’s brief look at where the other quarterbacks stand:
Redshirt freshman C.J. Brown has impressed Friedgen and has demonstrated improvement from spring practice. He has closed the gap that separates him from backup quarterback Danny O’Brien, another redshirt freshman.
We’ll see how each quarterback fares in Saturday’s scrimmage.
