Kicker Ferrara sidelined with groin pull

A few quick tidbits on a very busy Friday for me:

Sophomore kicker Nick Ferrara has a groin pull. Punter Travis Baltz performed the place kicking duties in Thursday's mock scrimmage and he kicked well.

Coach Ralph Friedgen said tight end Matt Furstenburg, who is expected to start against Navy, is 30-40 percent better than he was last season.

Running back D.J. Adams is playing well, but he needs to improve his pass blocking. Expect to see him in goal line situations.
