LB Pooler to miss season with likely ACL tear
Maryland Coach Ralph Friedgen said junior linebacker Ben Pooler suffered what he believes is an ACL tear to his left knee during Wednesday's second practice. Pooler was No. 2 on the depth chart at Will linebacker. Pooler played in 11 games, making five starts last season at Will linebacker. He ranked third on the team in tackles for loss (6.5) and fourth in sacks (3).
"It is tough for both of us," Friedgen said. "It hurts our team. The positions we were deep at we are starting to get thin at."
Friedgen will need to shuffle around some linebackers. More on that tomorrow...
