Wake Forest Coach Grobe: Maryland a 'really good team right now'

Let’s keep two things in mind about this struggling Wake Forest team: The Demon Deacons are coming off a bye week, and their horrible defensive statistics can at least partially be attributed their difficult schedule: at Stanford, at Florida State, Georgia Tech, Navy and at Virginia Tech. This could be a deceptively dangerous game for Maryland, which can take no team lightly.

Wake Forest Coach Jim Grobe shared some of his thoughts about Maryland on Tuesday. He said the biggest difference between this year’s Maryland team and last year’s is maturity. “I think Maryland was a good football team last year,” he said. “If you look at a lot of their scores, they were like what we have been like this year. A lot of the games last year went right to the wire and were only lost by a field goal. They are a team that was a pretty good football team last year, and they have really matured this year. They are a really good football team right now.”

Grobe called Maryland wide receiver Torrey Smith “electric. He is doing big things to everybody. He is a big playmaker in a lot of different ways, and that will be a problem for us. We have been a little spotty at times on special teams, and we have certainly given up some big plays defensively. He is a guy that we have to hold in check. Defensively, in order to improve, we are going to have to start limiting big plays. He is also a guy that can wear you out on special teams, so we have a lot of concerns.”

Grobe said that quarterback Danny O’Brien “seems to be a polished kid. Watching him last week you would not know he is a young quarterback. He played more like a veteran last week.”

Serious hope for the near future with DOB at the helm. Seeing Costa on the field Monday night really drove it home -our o-linemen go to the pros. Maybe only a few of them have been drafted, but they must be well-prepared to stick - even if only for a few games. Anyone have a run-down on Terps o-linemen in the pros?

Heyer - Skins
EdWilliams - was Skins; now GB?
Gaither - Ravens
Costa - cowgirls
Campbell - Raiders

Crummey?

Others?

I cannot believe how Grobe disrespected Maryland. Really good team?!?!?!?!?!?! Talk about disrespect.

Maryland is a really GREAT team. Doesn't Grobe know that Maryland will be playing for the BCS Championship come January? Really good team?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Nuts to him.

Terps are gonna destroy his Wake team and prove once and for all that the ACC goes through Maryland. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a hater or isn't a "real" fan of the Terps!!

Fridge and Franklin are gonna have the running game rack up hundreds of yards against Wake. Not to mention we'll probably pass for over 1000 yards. I also see us taking some kicks back to the house.

I say we, the Terps, win by at least 75 points. That'll show that disrespecting Grobe just how "good" Maryland.

Right Terp fans? Who's with me?!!!!!!?

If you're not with me than you're not a "real" Terp fan and I've got some juvenile insults I can anonomously toss around on the internet at you. So take that!! That or I'll try to get you banned!!!!

Alright time to take my pet dog to the park for some fun times. Than maybe to pet smart to pick up some dog food and dog treats. May even pick up a little costume for the dog. I was thinking of dressing the dog up in a mini-Juan Dixon uniform. What do you guys think of that?

Is anyone else picture DTD as Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs?

"Now it places the lotion in the basket..."

Poop,
You've seriously lost it. I suggest you take a break for your own sanity.

Lol. Once Poopy got banned from the post, it was only a matter of time before he truly lost it. Oh noooo don't make fun of my dead dog Poopy, that just hurts so much! Hahahah. In his mind he thinks he is getting back at me...so sad.

Why hasn't the Post banned DixonTheDog yet? It's painfully obvious he is Poopy, so what's the deal? Get that loser out of here.

To say that Maryland is 'really good' these days is really saying something. Dixon sounds like an obnoxious Carolina fan
and must be in an altered state of consciousness.
Oh yeah, by the way Dixon, even Wake's been to a BCS game here recently - where have your Terps been?
